Overview
One of the most important skills of mental health professionals is your ability to know yourself and to understand when and how your client’s issues and behaviours may trigger your own defences. In order to cultivate this skill, you as a mental health professional need to continue your own inner development work, looking at your own mental and emotional health from new perspectives.
In this short workshop we introduce an easy yet powerful tool to add a new perspective on your work with clients. Through a mixture of observation, creative exploration, and contemplation, you will be able to reflect on possible issues that are reflected back to you through the mirror of your clients’ presenting issues and behaviours.
Participants will learn:
- A simple tool to compare different client issues to each other and to the practitioner’s life.
- Creative ways for deeper exploration of personal insights.
- How to apply the specified Reflection Tool to client sessions.
This course is a prerequisite for the Art of Reflection™ working groups.
An eye-opening experience, in a good way as awareness is the first step to change / choice / healing. I have received many insights into myself to work on now. A very great course.
Format: One video to download, plus a quiz and a reflection paper depending on tier.

Audit Tier

This tier allows you to watch the videos and participate in the in-class activities at your own leisure, without any pressure.
Total time to complete this tier: 1 hour
Regular Tier
$ 65.00 incl. HST
With this tier, you will receive a Certificate of Participation after watching the videos and finishing the in-course activities. The Certificate of Participation is not intended as a CEU certificate.
Anticipated time to complete this tier: 2.5 hours
Enhanced Tier (CEU certificate)
$ 130.00 incl. HST
After completing the requirements for the Regular Tier, you will be asked to submit a reflection paper and pass a short test. After successful completion of all requirements, you will receive a Continued Education Units (CEU) certificate for 5 hours.
Anticipated time to complete this tier: 5 hours
Went good and deep — very important for a workshop of this kind! Importance of the combination of group sharing and individual work was also nicely balanced.
